# Regen Zone

Regen Zone restores saved Minecraft arena blocks with configurable timing, material filters and per-area rules. It is designed for Spigot, Paper and Purpur, with Minecraft 1.20 through 26.3 as its compatibility target.

Version covered by this guide: **0.3.0**.

Choose full interval restoration, change-only intervals, individual block timers or restoration after a quiet period. Each arena has its own settings. No duel plugin, WorldEdit, ProtocolLib, database or license key is required.

## Start here

1. Read [Requirements and installation](/matt-docs/installation.md).
2. Follow [Create your first arena](/matt-docs/first-arena.md).
3. Choose a [regeneration mode](/matt-docs/regeneration.md).
4. Adjust [configuration](/matt-docs/configuration.md) and [permissions](/matt-docs/commands-permissions.md).

## What is restored?

A snapshot records the original block type and block properties at each position. When a position is restored, Regen Zone replaces its current state with that saved state, subject to filters, player safety and integration events.

If a player builds a wool tower where the snapshot contains air, restoring those positions removes the tower when `restore-air` is enabled. If a player breaks a stone block and places dirt in the hole, restoration puts the original stone back. Enable `track-placements` to register placement events in selective modes.

Regen Zone does not provide a complete world rollback. Inventories, entities, dropped items, biome data and block-entity contents are outside its snapshot format. See [Safety and compatibility](/matt-docs/compatibility.md) before choosing your arena layout.

## Free use

All shipped features are available without payment or activation. You may use and modify the plugin, including on monetized servers, under the included license. You may not sell the plugin, its documentation or modified distributions, or include them in paid downloadable packages. See [License and support](/matt-docs/license-support.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://matt-creppet.gitbook.io/matt-docs/overview.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
